Sports Clinic 2020: Magicians Baseball

Description

Since 1995 Mike Giardi has been putting together a wide variety of programs to give young ball players the opportunity to fine tune their skills under the guidance of professional /collegiate and high school players and coaches. This clinic will focus on teaching the proper fundamentals and techniques to make each participant a better ball player. Full baseball games using reduced injury baseballs will be played daily.  Equipment needed: Baseball glove & proper footwear.

COVID-19 Guidelines

Proper Hygiene:

Players and coaches should practice proper hygiene.  Each field entrance will have hand sanitizing stations.  Players will be instructed to sanitize their hands upon arrival, departure, and periodically during the games.

Masks / Face coverings:

All players & coaches must wear masks when entering and leaving the park.   Additionally all players must wear face coverings while not on the field of play, either in the dugout or entering the field of play.  While on the field of play we are recommending that the batter/base runners wear face coverings.  All coaches must wear masks at all times.  We are recommending that all fans wear masks / face coverings.

Arrival / Departing:

All participants, parents and coaches must adhere to six foot physical distancing while at the park.  If parent(s)/guardian(s), would like to stay and watch their child, we are encouraging that only one member of the household be in attendance during games.

Dugouts:

The dugouts/bench area will be sectioned off along the left and right field lines outside the field of play.  Each player will be assigned a spot where they can leave their equipment and bring a chair if so desired.  Since there is one field coordinator as well as four other instructors, there will be plenty of supervision to make sure that social distance guidelines are adhered to in dugout/bench area.

Facilities:

Any high traffic / touch areas like entrances / gates to the fields will be sanitized regularly.

Equipment:

Players must bring their own equipment to the fields (except baseballs).  They have been instructed not to share any equipment with anyone else.   Since this is an instructional clinic, participants will not have to catch – so no catching gear is required.  One of the instructors will act as a catcher.

Baseballs:

Reduced Injury (Squishy) Balls will be used throughout the duration of the program.  Players will be told NOT to bring their own baseballs. The balls will be disinfected periodically during games. Any balls leaving the field of play (ie...foul balls) will be disinfected prior to being returned to play.

Miscellaneous:

Instructors have been instructed NOT to bring any food, gum, seeds with them, only water and sports drinks are allowed.

We will not be opening the shed at all this season.  No snack/lunch will be served during this clinic.

There are no bathroom facilities available during the clinic hours.
