The Oneida Film Society provides a feature-length movie screening with free admission to the public examining how Native Americans have been presented in theater and movies. Join us for dinner and a show as our monthly films are potlucks. Feel free to bring a small dish to pass.

Sept. 19, Mekko-Mekko gets out of prison after 19 years. He has no home or family so he makes his way to Tulsa. He tries to connect with a cousin but she turns him away. With nowhere to go Mekko ends up sleeping on the streets. He is taken in by the homeless native. Not rated. Mekko Trailer

Oct. 10, What We Do in the Shadows-Viago, Deacon, and Vladislav are vampires who are finding that modern life has them struggling with the mundane-like paying rent, keeping up with the chore wheel, trying to get into nightclubs and overcoming flatmate conflicts. Nov. 7, Two Indians Talking-A comedic drama about the conflicting opinions of two First Nations men as they prepare to set up a roadblock. Dec. 12, Bury My Heart with Tonawonda-This historical film tells the story of a boy with down syndrome who is rejected by his own family but accepted by the Tonawanda Seneca Nation.
