Woodworking Camp

Woodworking Camp

This camp is an introduction to the basics of woodworking. Camp begins by developing an appreciation for wood itself; where wood comes from, what everyday materials are made from it, and how do trees live? How humans and trees interact? Students will learn basic tree identification and a greater understanding of trees as natural resources. Students then move into developing the skills necessary to work with wood, including: how to plan a project and measure wood, use of woodworking tools (hammer, saw, drill, etc), cutting and assembling a project, and sanding and finishing. Each student will complete a finished project that they will keep.
